Key Principle: Meetings are for discussion and problem solving, not for syncing up or sharing information. There are more efficient ways to do that, such as messaging or sharing out a document.

Below is a flowchart you can use to determine whether or not you should have a meeting. When you see the term “async” in there, I’m referring to asynchronous communication, a mode of interaction where people engage and exchange information independent of real-time constraints, allowing for flexibility in response times and enabling communication to occur at each participant's convenience. An example would be writing up a document with your proposed Q1 roadmap, then sharing it out to your stakeholders and allowing them to consume it and leave comments as soon as their schedule allows.
